Frieda – A Quiet Spirit with a Heart Ready to Bloom Frieda came to us frightened and carrying one of the largest hernias our vet had ever seen. Thankfully, she’s had successful surgery, lots of rest, and time to heal—not just physically, but emotionally too.

She’s still shy around people and may dart away if things feel uncertain, but never with aggression. Just a soft soul learning to feel safe. Despite her hesitation, Frieda has made sweet progress: she’ll lounge contentedly on the bed, do a happy little dance for her meals, and dig the perfect cozy nest on the couch. Her foster mom has even snuck in some gentle pets while Frieda relaxes nearby—one small victory at a time.

Frieda loves the company of other dogs and cats and would make an ideal companion for a pet who needs a buddy. She navigates a doggy door like a pro and enjoys the freedom of a fenced yard where she can play and explore at her own pace.

She’s not the dog who’ll jump into your lap on day one—but for someone patient, quiet, and kind, Frieda will slowly open her heart. And when she does, the love will be as real as it gets.
